Residential Snow and Ice Removal in Illinois
You shouldn’t have to think about your driveway during a storm.
We clear driveways, walkways, and front steps for homeowners across Bloomington-Normal and the Southwest Chicago suburbs. We stake your property before the first snowfall, so our crew knows exactly where to plow. You’ll get a text or email the moment your route starts, so you always know where things stand. We also run a separate commercial program for businesses; this page covers your residential service.

Where We Serve
You’re covered across two clusters:
Bloomington-Normal Area
- Bloomington
- Normal
Southwest Chicago suburbs
- Romeoville, Bolingbrook, Plainfield
- Lockport, Crest Hill, Joliet
- Homer Glen, Woodridge, Darien
- Burr Ridge, Lisle, Downers Grove, Lemont
What's Included
- Driveway plowing
- Sidewalk and front-step clearing, so the whole path to your door stays clear, not just the driveway
- Ice control and salting, available by request
- Seasonal contracts, or one-time and on-call service when you just need a single visit
We also come back for the ridge the village plow leaves at the end of your driveway, so you are not left digging that out a second time.
Limited to 150 Properties for the 2026-2027 Season
We will accept no more than 150 residential properties this season. Once we reach that number, we stop taking new residential clients, no exceptions. Previous clients keep their spot first. If you’re new to Austin’s, reaching out early gives you the best chance at one of the spots that remain.
How We Handle Snow Day
- We plow once 2 inches have fallen and the snowfall has stopped, so your driveway isn’t replowed partway through the storm.
- For bigger storms, 8 inches or more, or ones that stretch over multiple days, we come back every 24 hours until it’s over.
- Snowfall under 2 inches needs pre-approval first. We go by the recorded snowfall for your township, not a measurement at your specific driveway, so the trigger applies the same way to every property.
- We text or email you when your route starts. That notification starts your 24-hour guarantee clock, so your property is cleared within 24 hours of that moment.
- We stake your property with our own plow markers before the season, so our crew knows exactly where your driveway, lawn, and landscaping begin and end.
Choosing a Plan
We offer three ways to pay for residential service. Pricing is quote-only and depends on property size, plowing frequency, and de-icing frequency, so there is no flat rate to publish here.
Per removal (per push)
Billed each time we plow. Fits properties with light or below-average snow in a typical year.
Monthly flat rate
A fixed bill every month for the season, easier to budget than paying per push.
Pay for season upfront
One payment before winter starts, in exchange for guaranteed priority on the route.
Request a quote, and we’ll recommend a plan based on your property and how much risk you want to carry yourself.
Salting, Refunds, and Touch-Ups
A few terms are worth knowing before you sign up.
Salting
Available by request only; it isn’t automatic. Requesting it comes with a minimum $25 charge, more depending on scope, and means you accept that we aren’t responsible for salt-related damage to your property.
Refund policy
Your first per-visit payment, or your first month’s payment on a monthly plan, isn’t refundable; it covers that first visit or month. If you paid for the full season upfront and need to cancel, up to 50 percent can be credited back, based on how many visits already happened.
Touch-ups
Missed a spot? Let us know within 12 hours of your start notification, and we’ll fix it inside your 24-hour guarantee window.
Staking
We stake your property with our own plow markers before the season, at no extra step for you.

Is a seasonal plan worth it if it's a mild winter?
It depends. Per-push usually costs less in a light snow year, while pay-for-season buys you guaranteed priority when a storm hits multiple properties at once. Call (309) 533-7808 and we can help you compare.

Am I liable if someone slips on my walkway?
If you clear your own sidewalk, Illinois law gives you some protection from liability unless the clearing itself was reckless, under the Snow and Ice Removal Act (745 ILCS 75). This is general information, not legal advice, so check with your insurer or attorney about your specific situation.
